Think through the answers

Use these prompts for practice. Do not present sample language as personal experience unless it is true.

1. Tell me about yourself.

Try a short present-past-future structure: what you focus on now, the relevant experience or learning you bring, and why this role is a logical next step.

2. What are your strengths?

Choose one or two strengths relevant to the role. Give a specific example that shows how you used each strength and what happened.

3. Tell me about a challenge or mistake.

Describe the situation briefly, own your part, explain the action you took and share what you learned. Avoid blaming others or exaggerating the outcome.

4. Why do you want this role?

Refer to responsibilities, the organization's work and how your skills match. Avoid answers that rely only on generic praise.

5. Describe a time you worked with a team.

Explain the shared goal, your contribution, how you handled communication and the result.

6. What would you like to learn?

Identify a realistic development area and explain the steps you are taking to improve it.

7. Do you have questions for us?

Ask about priorities for the role, team collaboration, onboarding, success measures or the next steps in the process.
